School Nurse

Part-Time
Responsibilities:

  • Uses the nursing process to assess the health needs of students and staff
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed/needed
  • Provides first aid and care to students and staff relating to illness and/or accidents
  • Reports in writing all student accidents, treatment, and follow up to parents
  • Develops individual health care plans and modifications for students with special health care needs
  • Serves as liaison between the home, medical community, and the school regarding student health concerns
  • Monitors the school environment and recommends changes to promote health and safety
  • Prepares and maintains accurate cumulative health records including immunizations
  • Tracks student immunizations to meet state school health compliance
  • Reviews and evaluates school health needs and services
  • Reviews and monitors student dietary restrictions

Qualifications:

  • Holder of a valid New York State license as a registered professional nurse
  • Holder of current CPR and AED certification
  • Ability to maintain accurate student records and submit accurate state reports timely
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community
  • Communicate regularly with the Department of Health and other healthcare providers
  • Maintain confidentiality of all students and school business records
  • Experience in pediatric or community or public health nursing
  • Possessing a positive attitude, especially when dealing with children
  • Able to navigate computer systems

School Receptionist

Full-Time
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting and greeting visitors
  • Maintaining sign-in/out book for staff and visitors and verifying reporting time and attendance to work for all staff
  • Performing various clerical tasks such as answering and responding to calls, distributing messages, filing, faxing, copying and scanning, etc.
  • Opening and distributing mail to appropriate individuals/designated offices
  • Receiving and checking deliveries and submitting packaging slips to the Business Office
  • Tracking student tardiness
  • Assisting with keeping student contact information updated including the Cell Trust system
  • Preparing School Verification Letters
  • Assisting in updating school inventory and office supplies
  • Assisting with lottery process, student enrollment/registration
  • Reporting directly to the Business Manager

Additional Projects

  • Assisting school administrators in additional projects as requested for the successful operation of the school

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of administrative office experience
  • Excellent attention to details and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational with the ability to multitask and prioritize various projects
  • A team player willing to pitch in whenever  needed
  • An interest in working in an educational environment
  • Possessing good interpersonal and communication skills (pleasant and positive attitude), especially when dealing with children, parents, and the public
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Database Work, and the ability to navigate the Internet

School Aide - Part-Time

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing clerical duties including phone calls, copying, faxing, and scanning
  • Breakfast and lunch duty
  • Assist with student recruitment
  • Serve as the receptionist back up

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of administrative office experience
  • Excellent attention to details and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, with
  • Having the ability to multitask and prioritize various projects
  • A team player willing to pitch in whenever needed
  • An interest in working in an educational environment
  • Possessing a positive attitude, especially when dealing with children
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, database work, and the ability to navigate the Internet

AVAILABLE Teacher Assistant Position
Requirements:
We seek candidates that have the ability to participate fully in the classroom environment; are flexible and willing to support wherever and whenever needed; have a willingness to support teachers in preparing and teaching lessons; work well with students one-on-one and in small groups; are able to effectively communicate with parents as well as the other teachers on the team (across all subject areas); and who aspire to become teachers by participating in continued education.  MUST be able to independently supervise and manage whole groups of students effectively.
Qualifications: 
New York State temporary license, continuing certificate; or a Level I, II, III or Pre-Professional certificate.
Salary: 
Commensurate with experience.  We offer full benefits including health/dental coverage, paid vacation, and tuition reimbursement.
