CHARTER SCHOOL OF EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE HOST A CULINARY TOUR OF YONKERS AT RIDGE HILL
On Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, the Charter School of Educational Excellence will host its annual fundraiser, Bits, Bytes, and Bricks: Building for the Future. The event will take place on the Ridge Hill Theatre Balcony at Ridge Hill at One Ridge Hill Boulevard in Yonkers. The evening will feature food prepared and served from many local restaurants, and attendees will also receive coupons for discounted shopping for that night. Bits, Bytes, and Bricks will highlight the school’s community partners, supporters, and student families. Funds raised will be used to advance technology in our classrooms, and to start expanding the school to add a high school.
Founded in 2005, CSEE was the first charter school to open its doors to children in Westchester as a free public school open to all children through a random lottery admissions process. Today, CSEE is ranked a top-performing school in New York State and the nation. Additionally, CSEE has been designated a NYS Reward School in 2014, 2015, 2016, and again in 2017. As a Reward School, CSEE has made monumental progress in closing student achievement gap. Over the past three years, this fundraiser has raised almost $200,000, and helped to outfit nearly 600 students with laptops.
Board Trustee Sobeida Cruz notes, “The event is always spectacular! We bring together community and school leaders who share our vision of quality education. We all get to sample food from wonderful restaurants, listen to music, and celebrate our school.”

Featured restaurants include many Ridge Hill favorites like Havana Central, Texas de Brazil, Elevation Burger, Le Macaron, as well as other local flavors from Dia Y Noche, Giulio's, Silvio's, and Mama's Kitchen.
