Step 1: Online Application

Step 2: Demo Lesson & Interview
Our in-person demo lesson and interview allows us to further explore your potential match with CSEE. You will lead a 30-40 minute class where we can assess your classroom management instincts and lesson delivery. After the lesson, you’ll reflect with school leadership.

Instructional                      

The Charter School of Educational Excellence Elementary Teacher understands and promotes the school’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Elementary Classroom Teacher is responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school’s mission and values established by the school.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER
The Charter School of Educational Excellence Middle School Teacher understands and promotes the school’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Middle School Classroom Teacher is responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school’s mission and values established by the school.

ART TEACHER
The mission of the Charter School of Educational Excellence (“CSEE”) is to produce students who meet or exceed all New York State learning standards. CSEE will do this by creating a challenging learning environment with high expectations for every child with an emphasis on the basic subject areas of English-language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. The school will employ standards based and research proven curriculum, implement best educational practices, use a variety of assessments to measure on-going student progress in skills and content learning, and support teachers with professional development activities that are aligned to the instructional program.

CSEE’s emphasis on basic subjects will give students a strong academic foundation that will allow them to become critical thinkers and life-long learners. The school will also expose students to a diverse curriculum that promotes appreciation of art, music, and cultural awareness. The Charter School of Educational Excellence will provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students and foster a strong partnership with families and the community.

We are currently recruiting for an Art Teacher who understands and promotes the school's mission, vision, objectives and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Art Teacher will be responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school's mission and values established by the school.

Qualified candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of urban teaching experience with a record of high achievement, experience working with at-risk student population in some capacity preferred, knowledge of art and design concepts, a variety of media and materials, and broad range of art history, possess broad range of knowledge in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, design and construction.

Academic & Certification Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required and NYS teaching certification in the content area.
